Storage Lockers

Though these units are something most of us are familiar with from our years of high school, storage lockers are now a popular means of organization and storage away from the school halls. The traditional modern, sleek design and metal structure makes storage lockers a decorating hit for teen and young adult rooms. However, despite their "young" appearance, these storage units, now made in several different styles and materials can still work well in kitchens, offices, or any room for that matter.

Locker storage can be purchased in a variety of forms and for a variety of purposes. Beside the traditionally-known uses for school and the more modern use of decorating at home, metal storage lockers can be purchased for use in offices, work-break rooms, and gyms. Lockers are made in metal, plastic, and wood with a variety of color, size, and finish options for the perfect fit. Consider using a colorful, metal locker in an eclectic kitchen or a modern office. Or perhaps, you're in need of a simple, water-proof plastic design for use near a swimming pool. Whatever the need, storage lockers are available in so many options that it is difficult to not find a great organization solution.

Different Types of Storage Lockers

Depending on the size of the room or the number of lockers needed in a particular space, you can find different options in regards to the shape and size of storage lockers. School lockers are traditionally tall, single-tiered, and lined up against the wall. However, if you are in need of more lockers per section of wall, you can purchase double-tiered or even triple-tiered units. These storage units are great for small areas with numerous users such as locker rooms or office break rooms. Usually, locker space does not need to be great for students, gym users, or employees who need only to store their lunches, books, or gym bags. For even smaller units, you can choose box lockers which might be great for mail or other smaller needs.

Another option for storage lockers is to purchase vented units. These lockers have a mesh-lined or bared opening on the front, allowing a more see-through design and obviously, more ventilation. Locker-rooms often have these types of lockers which will allow wet or sweaty clothing to air and dry without any mold or stuffiness accumulating inside of the locker. Other thought might be to use these types of lockers in the kitchen for storage of vegetables, dishes, or canned-foods. You can typically find vented lockers in just about every size you could the traditional lockers.

Home Storage Lockers

For home storage lockers and self storage lockers for personal use are available in several selections which would not be common to see elsewhere. For example, an open-access locker would be a great storage unit for a young person's room, though it would not be convenient in a school or gym. Other designs might include a bridge-style box locker, smaller modular lockers for closet use, metal crate lockers for garage storage, or finished wood storage lockers for stylish home storage. A plain metal storage locker is also commonly used in homes or classrooms to keep school or art supplies, papers, or even food neatly organized and put away. Again, whatever the need, it is not difficult to find a convenient storage method in the way of lockers.

A special feature of traditional storage lockers is that of locking systems. Most storage lockers, particularly the metal, plastic, or wood designs, can be built with a key, padlock, or combination code to keep units and their items safely stored. Newer models may even have electronic locking systems. Having these options makes lockers the perfect storage solution in public places.

Storage lockers are an excellent and very versatile storage system, able to be used in many different arenas. With their ability to be so convenient in places everywhere from school hallways to gym locker rooms, from stadium locker rooms to office break rooms, or from your kitchen to your teen's bedroom, storage lockers are an affordable, easy method for keeping life organized.
