Projectors can be rented for presentations to large and small audiences. Some families have occasional gatherings weddings or reunions and like to gather family members around to show memorable photographs or videos of past family events. Companies rent projectors to display their goods at trade shows or to highlight points on screen during a conference presentation. Many training institutions use projectors to outline study plans and highlight particular stress points about a subject being covered.

Clients will specify the details of how the projector will be used and the digital projector rental company will have a staff member size up the clients needs by asking about the types of presentations, the numbers of people attending, the size of the spaces the equipment will be located in and the necessary computer requirements to meet compatibility standards of the projector. Most rental companies only rent new, state-of-the-art equipment, so the projectors clients receive are made by reputable manufacturers offering the best technology. And, reputable companies will always do a check on any equipment before it leaves the premises. For example, if an LCD projector is rented, a technician should check to make sure the picture brightness is perfect and the sound is adjustable to the size of the room and the number of people in attendance. The tech will also make sure that all necessary, added accessories are included with the rental like microphones, remote controls, computer hook-ups, laser pointer, carrying case, etc. If the renter is picking up the equipment, it is advised to have the technician do a run through on the equipment and basic instructions on how it set up.

It's extremely convenient to rent a projector rather than purchase one. Renters save on the price of purchasing a unit, maintenance and repair bills and storage space. In most instances, rental companies will ship the projector to the facility or home where the presentation is taking place, so renters don't have to be inconvenienced by picking up or returning the equipment. There are some rental companies that will also provide set up and testing services at no additional cost. Others will make sure projectors come with easy to read set-up and usage instructions.

Choosing a Rental Company & Rental Terms

Most rental companies offer projector rentals for short or extended periods of time, depending on the need. Renters should read the terms of any rental companies contracts closely to make sure there are no hidden charges or extra fees for accessories or services. Careful attention should be paid to the repair and replacement terms in the event the equipment should breakdown while on sight or in the event the renter accidentally drops or loses a piece of equipment. Companies that carry rented projectors from one site to another should be particularly aware of the rental company's repair and replacement terms.
