Laminator Machine
74If you're looking to buy a lamination machine you may want to know what types are out there, and what exactly to look for. Here is a guide to help you choose the right kind for you.
Laminator machines come in many different models, and sizes. What you plan on doing with the laminator machine should also come into play when you are shopping for one. If you are doing small projects such as home pictures or special documents just about any of the laminating machines will work for this. However if you are doing a larger project, you will want a stronger machine with more durability.
You should also ask yourself just how often you are going to be using the machine. If you're really not going to be using the machine that often, you can opt to buy one of the less expensive models out there. However if you are going to be using it every day, or more than just one person is going to be using it, you may want to invest quite a bit more money into a nicer laminating machine. If you plan on just laminating smaller photos like old polaroids, consider getting a pouch laminator. If it's a larger document that you have that needs laminating, you will want to get a Roll Laminator or a Thermal Roll Laminator.
Laminator Machine Sizes
A thermal roll laminating machine is great for laminating things such as posters or maps. Great for teachers or parents who do a lot of at home projects with kids. If you are laminating something that is sensitive to temperature changes, consider getting a cold or self-adhesive roll laminator. When you are out shopping for your laminator machine, you can look for a variety of different features as well. Some lamination machines come with such features as anti-jam buttons and if you don't mind spending a little bit extra, spring for a laminator machine that has a reverse release mechanism.
When looking for a laminate machine, also check out the safety features it has available. These machines can generate a lot of heat, so you may want to look for one with temperature controls especially if you will be using it around smaller children. Some laminator machines also have safety features that actually shut themselves off if they are not used for a specific amount of time. These are great for schools to use. Another good feature some laminator machines offer is a safety shield that will not allow the machine to operate unless it is in place. If you're concerned with size, and can't have a larger laminator machine, you might want to check into getting a portable laminator machine. These are great if you have to go somewhere and need to take it with you. Noted though, that these portable laminator machines, are probably not your best bet for larger laminating jobs. But they are great for crafts and at-home jobs. If you are using it for business, you might not mind some of the larger sized ones. They can run as large as some desks, so if you're going for a heavy-duty one, be prepared to make some room.
Laminator Machine Budget
How much you spend on a laminator machine really depends on what type and model you end up going with. The smaller ones used for at-home projects tend to be a cheap laminating machine and the larger ones can run up into thousands of dollars. Make sure and shop around, look at your budgets to determine just how much you can spend. If you don't mind used, check into your local newspaper, some used business supplies store in your area, or even a thrift store. Be careful with this though. You are getting a laminator machine without a warranty. If you are going to be using this machine quite a bit, you might want to just go ahead and buy from a store that offers you a warranty, even if it 'is just for 90 days. You can also find some great deals online.
